Michaels First Hair Cut

We finally broke down and gave Michael a hair cut at ten months old. He was a little angel, and sat so still while Jake have him the buzz.

Jayla on her first day of Kindergarten

Jayla was excited to go to school and see her friends. She was quite disappointed when she was not assigned the same table as her bff Tacoma. She is over it now and tells me they get to play together at recess.

Johns first broken binge

I received a call last Monday night from a friend. "Where are you, I think John broke his arm." Sure enough after 4 hours in urgent care, the doc confirmed it was broken.

He was feeling pretty miserable, but after his arm was casted in Bronco orange and some pain meds, he's feeling pretty good. This will put a damper on football season however, Jakes helping coach, so the broken arm doesn't get John out of going to practice.

Home Sweet Home

While we were in Texas Jake received a phone call from a friend about a sales job opportunity in the Boise area. Jake followed the lead and sure enough he was offered a position. We packed up our car and headed back to Idaho.

We are glad to be back and excited for Jakes new job. He will be an outside sales rep for a company called Shred It. We had rented our home out for the summer so are staying with my parents until September then we will move back in our Garden Valley home. The kids love being back and have been busy playing with friends every day.

Last night I took the kids to see "The wizard of Oz" at our local outdoor theater and we all agreed with Dorothy when she said, "There s no place like home." We love this relaxing Garden Valley life.

The Zoo

We enjoyed the zoo with Jake's cousin Kim and her little boy Tate. John's favorite was the chimps. They were eating when we got there. The treats had a significant resemblence to dog turds and all the kids were grossed out thinking the Chimps were eating their own feces. It took me a while to convince John otherwise. YUCK!

The Houston Children's Museum

We bought a pass to the wonderful children's museum that is two blocks from our apartment. There is so much for the kids to do that on our first visit we stayed for five hours and still didn't see it all.

Jayla built herself a marina in the outdoor water works area.

The kids did self face painting. John was a professor and Jayla was a butterfly.

Micheal is so good to hang in his stroller and take it all in.

Our busy first week

Two days after we arrived we ventured to a nearby museum and park.

The kids enjoyed the stuffed animals at the Museum of Natural History.

We rode a train through the park. John and Jayla thought it was great.

Our long drive

Jayla called it getting a car ache, which best explains how we felt after three days in the car. We drove through Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma to get to our summer home on Houston, Texas.

Micheal was so amazing the whole trip. Happy to have so much time playing with his big bro and sis.

Jayla enjoyed the scenery and long naps.

John stayed busy playing video games on the Ipad and cell phones.

We finally made it to the big city, 3rd largest in the country.

Houston

We have moved to Houston, TX for the summer. Jake is selling security systems and the kids and I are playing. We have been here for a few weeks and starting to settle in to our summer vacation of swimming, parks and museums. I hope to keep this blog a little more updated so that our families can see the kids growing and having fun. I have really enjoyed being able to spend so much time with my children.

John is such a good boy. He is so honest and obedient. He got baptized last month and bore his testimony last Sunday. He did a great job going in front of the ward, which is much much bigger than our branch in Garden Valley. It was a wonderful for him. He asked me why I didn't go up and I said because I had to feed Micheal, John smiled at me and said "it's cause your scared." He was mostly right.

Jayla is almost 5 years old and is such a precious girl. She loves being able to swim everyday. She is becoming quite a great swimmer. She is constantly amazing me at all she can do. Our apartment complex is like a big maze. There are quite a few different buildings with two swimming pools in between, a few courtyards, the parking garage, a lobby and throw in where we get the mail, I am fequently trying to remember which turn to make. But my little Jayla has got it all memorized. I just ask her, which way to the elevator, or which way to the mailboxes and she'll say this way or that. I just follow her and have yet to be disappointed.

Michael is growing so fast. When we got here he still hadn't found his legs. But now he is standing all the time. He is so proud of himself about it too. He'll stand and laugh. He is also rolling all over the place and eating baby food. He is growing too fast, but I am trying to enjoy every minute of it. He also is loving swimming in the pool and meeting new people. He loves new people, their voices and faces keep him very occupied.

We have also got to spend some time with two of cousins, one from each side of the family. It has been nice to get to know them better. Hopefully you will check back with us often and see how our Texas adventure is going.
