pooped

After Dinner Conversation
Mom finishes the food on her plate, takes a deep sigh and says
"I'm pooped."
3 year old Jayla, scrunches her eyebrows, looks at mom and asks
"In your underwear?"
I am still laughing my head off!

The KISS

Need I say more?? Well, I will. I have maybe two, MAYBE two pictures of Jake and I kissing on our wedding day. He hates PDA, so when he consented to hold the pose for this photo I was very ecstatic, to say the least. I have waited 8 years for this picture so it definitely deserves its own spot on my blog for the world to see!

Winter Festival

McCall Winter Festival

We enjoyed the McCall Winter Festival a few Saturdays ago. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed the parade and the we enjoyed the ice sculptures. There was some really awesome ones. The kids favorite was the dragon castle which had a slide and tunnels for them to play on. After the festival we drove up to Tamarack and Jake showed us all the nice homes and some of the ones he sold the wood siding to. It was almost like a ghost town up there but it was gorgeous.

Why you should get married?

A conversation, between John and his friend Ruby, I listened in on as we were driving.

John "I am going to marry Sammy"

Ruby "I am not going to get married, I am just going to stay a kid forever"

After much thought John replies "I have to get married because I have to eat."

Thus I see that through John's eyes my role as a wife is to feed my husband, I suppose I should work on that one, ehh?

Sledding!!

I don't think sledding can get much cuter than this!

A few weeks ago we invited Jake's family up to go sledding, swimming and have dinner at our place. We had a pretty good turnout and everyone was excited to do it again. The Peery's, Jacobs, Burke's (minus Roman), the Thomas's and the Floyds all made it. We had a blast but were all bummed when Teresa flew off her tube and tore a ligament in her shoulder. Sadly we waved good bye to the Peery clan, but the party must go on so we headed up to the pools!

I forgot my camera so I had to download Aunt Michelle's pictures. This was the only one I have of John. He is the one in the orange coat on the right, enjoying the delicious snow with the boys!

Jake and Jayla went down quite a few times and then enjoyed hanging out at the bottom of the hill chit chatting.

Here Kathy and I (center) are telling Teresa about our death defying run we just went down. Now we know why no one else was going down it, slow, boring until we got the the end and all the sudden we're cruisin' quite fast and the trail suddenly turns and we went shooting off the bank and flying off our tubes. Many things run through my mind like, "this can not end good." Alas, after a mental check of all limbs, I am okay and Kathy also. Ahhh, GOOD TIMES!! I really enjoyed spending time with Kathy, I haven't had much of a chance to get to know her, and it turns out she is just as awesome and fun to be around as the other Haddock girls.

Here is me with Jayla and cousin Brinley. Brin is so cute, I wanted to take her home with me!!
I didn't have any eating pictures but just imagine all of gathered in a warm wood stove heated living room with YUMMY taco soup. We missed all those who didn't make it and hope to see you next time around.

All my friends are doing it!

I have felt some pressure from the Spirit to ponder on my life and make a New Years resolution. There is something that makes me cringe when I think of New Years Resolutions. I really don't like them at all. I don't make them, due mainly to the fact that I really don't like failure and it seems no one ever sticks to their NYR. I do however set small goals throughout the year, but I now feel it is time to get serious and at the same time real with myself. I loved my cousins Amberly's new area of focus for the year, obedience. I was tempted to just copy and paste her blog entry into mine. Nope, that won't work, so I am going to keep pondering and praying on what my (gritting my teeth as I type) New Years Resolution, yuck will be. Just wondering what your NYR is.
